TRY: Therapeutic & Restorative Yoga
Relax, repair, rejuvenate, restore.
TRY is a therapeutic yoga practice that combines supported gentle and restorative yoga postures, breathwork, guided imagery and energic touch to support the body's ability to manage pain, encourage healing, and provide comfort through illness or injury.

For thousands of years, Yoga has been a method to find health and well-being. Ancient yogis first practiced yoga to sit easefully for hours while staring at the end of their noses contemplating bliss. To develop the physical stamina for this effort, more and more postures were added to help the body become even more flexible and able to sit longer and with more ease. In the West, the idea of sitting easefully has given way to athleticism and now yoga is a bonafide fitness craze with aims that far exceed the notions of those fellows on grass mats 2,000 years ago. Unfortunately, it also means a yoga culture that often leaves no space for those with physical limitations. Many of whom have bodies that really need the benefits of a regular yoga practice.

With TRYmyYOGA, we bring yoga principles back to basics -- creating a more easeful body, regardless of ability. Whether managing stress and seeking rest and relaxation, or managing pain or chronic illness and hoping for comfort and restoration, TRYmyYOGA can offer the health and well-being benefits of a yoga practice without requiring the athleticism of more traditional practices.

Some of these benefits may include:

  • Relaxation:
    • Reduces stress levels and blood pressure
    • Postures support the body and allow for complete relaxation
    • Guided meditation encourages rest and assimilation of benefits
  • Repair and restoration:
    • Enhanced functioning of the immune, lymphatic and circulatory systems
    • Improved health through implicit massage and flushing of internal organs
    • Touch therapy brings energy and awareness to aid pain relief and healing
  • Rejuvenation:
    • Glently stretches lesser used muscles and connective tissue
    • Encourages deeper breathing and full respiration

TRY a session
30, 60 or 90 minutes, bliss included.
Before at at the start of the session, Deian will talk with you about your specific health issues, pain or areas of concern. Then, you'll explore a series of supported postures (using pillows, bolsters and other props) to allow your body to enjoy release and to allow us to work on specific areas of pain or discomfort. Meanwhile, Deian will also use gentle touch and energy flow to compliment the positions. He'll also work with you to explore and expand your breath and helping you receive even deeper benefits. Finally, you'll enjoy a deep relaxation allowing your body, mind and spirit to assimilate the various benefits of the practice into your body. Throughout the session, Deian will also guild you with imagery and meditation techniques to accompany the therapeutic practice.
